  • When are group visits offered?

Guided group tours are offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

  • How is my group visit confirmed?

Your guided group tour is only confirmed when you receive an official confirmation email from the Assistant Director of Campus Visits or other Admissions staff. The confirmation will include a full itinerary and information on where your group will be dropped off and picked up.

  • What if our plans change?

If changes are needed after a confirmation is sent and the itinerary is set, the Assistant Director of Campus Visits should be notified at least a week in advance. This includes changes to headcount, arrival time, departure time, or other details. Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate changes on the day of the tour.

  • What if I Need to Cancel?

Cancellations should be communicated to the Assistant Director of Campus Visits as soon as possible. We would love to reschedule your visit if possible.

  • Are meals provided during our visit?

Yes! High school and community college groups can enjoy a complimentary lunch in the Dining Hall. When filling our the visit request form, select a tour option that includes lunch and we'll take care of the rest!

If your group chooses to bring their own lunch, please let the Assistant Director of Campus Visits know so that they can recommend places for the group to eat.

  • How many Chaperones are Required?

Groups should provide one adult, staff, or faculty member chaperone for every 15 students. We encourage chaperones to keep emergency contact information for all group tour participants. The ETSU Tour Guide is not responsible for contacting emergency contacts or managing innapropriate behaviors during the visit. Chaperones will need to stay with the group throughout the visit, including the tour.

  • What Happens the Day of my group visit?

Please arrive within 10 minutes of the agreed upon arrival time. Your confirmed itinerary is shared with everyone at ETSU helping with your visit. If your group arrives early, we will still begin the visit at the scheduled start time. If your group arrives too late, there will likely be parts of the visit that will have to be skipped. For the best experience possible, please arrive on time.

Our team will ask for a cell number for a day-of contact person (who will not be driving) so that the group can provide an estimated time of arrival.

  • Are there resources available to assist with transportation costs?

We have limited transportation stipends available on a case-by-case basis. To see if you qualify, reach out to Lexi Petrak at petrak@etsu.eduwith your estimated cost.

  • Can I schedule a group tour for my elementary or middle school group?

We appreciate the interest from all educational groups in visiting our campus. However, due to current resource and scheduling constraints, we are unable to accommodate visits from elementary and middle school groups at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
