ETSU Admissions Requirements
The average enrolling freshman has a GPA is 3.6 GPA and a 24 ACT. The minimum GPA requirement is a 2.3 (4.0 scale) or a 19 ACT (composite). Here is a link to our Admissions Policies.
Review the list of academic requirements for freshmen. ETSU is test-optional for admission. However, an ACT/SAT score is required for scholarship consideration. A test score is also used for determining course placement. Students who do not choose to submit an ACT/SAT score will be given an opportunity to take the Accuplacer exam to determine which classes they should take.
Important Dates & Deadlines
We recommend students apply early and be aware of ETSU's various scholarship deadlines. March 1 is the annual deadline for most university scholarships. May 1 is the deadline to take the ACT/SAT exam to be considered for Academic Performance Scholarships.

Join the Counselor Advisory Board
The Counselor Advisory Board is a valued partnership between high school counselors and the ETSU Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Members of the CAB offer insight and guidance on their students’ needs, goals, and plans, and how ETSU can meet those needs. We value hearing directly from you, and hope you value being the first in line to learn about new ETSU initiatives. Also, we will provide you with ETSU swag items for yourself and to display in your office. We will host you on campus as special guests at events throughout the year! We also believe one of the greatest benefits of the CAB is the opportunity for you to connect with other counselors from around the region to talk about important initiatives you are taking on at your schools.
