Welcome to ETSU’s School Librarianship program!
It is an exciting time to be a school librarian!
Connect, collaborate, innovate! Every day is exciting and engaging in the library, the school's hub for learning.
School librarianship is an eclectic, burgeoning profession!
Throughout any given day at work, school librarians might be placing just the right book into just the right hand, serving as a biblio-therapist, matching literature to the curriculum, co-teaching, evaluating and managing a vibrant collection, teaching and modeling information literacy skills, protecting students’ intellectual freedoms, and providing in-service presentations regarding the library’s role!
As you can discern, the school library professional must be well-rounded and creative…a “go-getter,” literacy specialist, and information guru!
YOU can be the next certified, licensed school librarian, ensuring your students develop a LOVE for learning!
ETSU offers three avenues for becoming a School Librarian: (see Course Listing page, also)
