Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders Today
Our Administrative Endorsement program prepares educators for entry-level administrative roles at the P-12 school or district level, leading to Tennessee licensure as a Beginning Administrator. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, a valid teaching license, and have at least three years of teaching experience.
Program Highlights
- Cohort-Based Learning: Students progress through the program in a supportive, hybrid cohort model and taking a minimum of six (6) credits per semester.
- Licensure preparation: After the fourth semester, students take the administrative endorsement exam. Students also complete a supervised internship and develop a professional portfolio.
Degree Pathways
- Master of Education (M.Ed.): Complete 37 credits over six (6) consecutive semesters.
- Educational Specialist (Ed.S.): Earn your Ed.S and instructional leaders license with 42 credits.
- Doctor of Education (Ed.D.): For those already holding a master's degree, the Ed.D. requires a minimum of 60 credits. Students can earn the Ed.S. along the way.
Tennessee Beginning Administrator Licensure Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid professional teaching license
- Have at least three years of successful teaching experience
- Pass the state-required administrative licensure exam
