Proteomics is the large-scale  characterization of the entire complement of proteins found at the cellular, tissue, or organismal level. It encompasses protein expression, protein localization and compartmentalization, protein modifications, and protein-protein interactions.

Your core is pleased to offer automated magnetic bead-based immunoassays and Western blotting, as well as assistance with traditional SDS-PAGE assays and data acquisition using the G:Box XX6. Mass spectrometry and 2D gel separation are available through collaborators at ETSU and confocal microscopy for in situ visialization and localization is available through your Microscopy Core. 

• MagPix Bead-Based Immunoassays

  The Bio-Plex MagPix multiplex reader is a compact, robust system for magnetic bead-based immunuoassays. The system allows you to seamlessly transition to xMAP technology and take advantage of the magnetic bead-based workflow.

   

  Bio-Plex Multiplex immunoassays use Luminex magnetic beads for the quantification of biologically relevant targets: assays for inflammation, disease, cancer, cell signaling and growth, apoptosis, toxicity, and more. Choose assays in premade and custom configurations, or develop your own assays for new targets.

  NOTE: Compatible assays from other vendors MAY be used.

• ABBY Automated Western Blotting

  

  An automated Western blot with no gels, no transfer devices, no blots, no film and no manual analysis. Just load your samples in Wes and press start—it's a complete, walk-away solution for protein separation and detection.

  Automate all steps automatically including sample loading, size-based protein separation, washing, detection and data analysis.
  Variability in the manual processes that used to impact reproducibility, quantitation, time to result and overall data reliability is eliminated.
  Transition is simple—the same antibodies used for Western blotting protocols can be used with Simple Western assays.
  Separate and detect proteins as small as 2 kDa or as large as 440 kDa in only 3 hours.

• Bio-Plex Pro Wash Station

   

  The Bio-Plex Pro Wash Station eliminates manual wash steps from Bio-Plex Assays, making them as easy as ELISAs. The Bio-Plex Pro Wash Station incorporates a magnetic plate carrier for reliable, hands-free wash steps on magnetic bead-based assays. Preset wash programs have been optimized for Bio-Plex Assays. Using the Bio-Plex Pro Wash Station in an assay workflow reduces manual intervention and decreases variability between independent experiments.
