The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for part-time faculty - recognizing your essential role in student success and institutional excellence.
Through an ongoing needs assessment, the CTE will identify and respond to part-time faculty priorities, ensuring that programming and resources are aligned with their unique experiences and responsibilities.
Institutions must be intentional in how they engage part-time faculty.
For example:
- Provide clear communication about professional development opportunities and expectations
- Offer comprehensive orientation and tools to get started
- Ensure access to meaningful learning experiences
This section highlights strategies to support part-time faculty through transparent communication, inclusive professional development offerings, appropriate incentives for participation, and opportunities to build connections and a sense of belonging within the broader institutional community.

Please know that all part-time faculty are welcome to attend any CTE learning event. While we will highlight some key workshops below, any workshop, retreat, or conference we offer is open to you as a valued colleague. The CTE offers a workshop series on Teaching Essentials that reflects our core pedagogical values. We host workshops on timely topics, with varying durations and modalities.
