Brief Bio:
I grew up in Ringgold, Georgia, from a family of blue collar workers. Integrity, kindness, and a strong work ethic were instilled in me early and often by my family. My mother went back to school when I was in 8th grade to pursue her nursing degree, and she allowed me to come attend classes with her. That is where my love of medicine started. I worked at her hospital in late high school and early college, and was often found in the operating room watching any surgery I was able to in between transporting patients and cleaning ORs for turnover. My love of surgery persisted and led me to pursue my residency. Educating the next generation of surgeons is something I find incredibly inspiring and fulfilling, and it keeps me academically on my toes. I’m glad to be part of that environment here at ETSU. My husband and two beautiful children and I moved here 5 years ago, and we love this community and area.
