This semester, ETSU’s College of Business & Technology is hosting the first Fulbright Scholar from Ireland to visit Tennessee. Dr. Sharon Feeney is the Head of Learning Development in the College of Business at the Technical University Dublin, Ireland. She has worked in higher education since 1991 in various roles including quality assurance officer and lecturer in corporate strategy, organizational behavior, behavioral science, public policy, and international management. Dr. Feeney's research focuses on higher education policy at the institutional, national, and international levels, with particular emphasis on quality systems, program and institutional evaluation, and qualifications and awards frameworks. She has consulted on and developed, reviewed and implemented policies at the institutional level in higher education institutions in Ireland, Russia, Oman, and Egypt over the past 15 years. She has been an invited speaker at conferences in Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ireland, Italy, and Russia. Dr. Feeney has published in numerous journals and edited volumes and has presented her work on higher education and policy development at conferences around the world.

While at ETSU, Dr. Feeney is conducting research on alternative faculty positions
including non-tenure track positions such as lecturers and professors of practice.
