Explore the World of Medical Education: Summer Internship Opportunities
Originally launched in 2007, the Summer Internship Program was designed to give students
a hands-on introduction to the dynamic world of medical education.
Due to growing interest, the program expanded in 2008 and now attracts students from
across the region who are eager to explore careers in healthcare and gain an inside
look at medical education at the Quillen College of Medicine.

Interns are exposed to a wide range of experiences, including high-fidelity patient
simulation with medical and interprofessional healthcare students, collaboration with
residents from various specialties at ETSU, and opportunities to participate in research
and assist in the development of new simulation technologies.
The program is open to college students who are sophomores or above and pursuing a
concentration in healthcare, biomedical sciences, or a related field. We typically
accept four to five interns each summer. For those looking to make the most of their
summer break, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience
and professional connections that can help shape future career paths.
