    Requirements

    Transcripts

    • Domestic Transcripts: You may submit unofficial transcripts with your application. Official transcripts will be required upon admission to a graduate program.
    • International Transcripts: Must be evaluated through a course-by-course transcript evaluation from a NACES-approved organization (e.g., ECE, SpanTran, WES). The evaluation must include an original copy of your official transcript as received by the evaluating agency. Please allow adequate time for evaluation processing (typically 8+ weeks).

    Recommendations

    • 4 recommendations (with at least two from former college professors) to be submitted through the online application.

    GPA

    • 3.4 overall GPA for applicants with a Master’s degree or 3.0 overall for applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (on a 4.0 scale)

    Test Scores

    • GRE

    Personal Statement

    • A statement explaining career and educational goals and general area of interest for the dissertation.

    Additional Requirements

    • Master’s degree (thesis preferred) or Bachelor’s degree (strong research component) in biology, Exercise Science, or related discipline from an accredited university. A background in Statistics, General Chemistry, General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology. (Students admitted with a B.S. will need to meet all doctoral requirements, including prerequisites and equivalencies; therefore, these students will exceed the 72 credits required for the degree and can expect a longer program of study.)
