Who Can Rent Equipment: Equipment and Bikes may be rented by anyone with a current CPA membership.
How to Rent Equipment: Equipment and Bikes can be rented at the Outdoor Adventure Center located behind the Climbing Wall in the CPA during normal operating hours. Please allow at least 15 minutes for the OA Staff to go over the equipment for any pick-up or return. Members will incur fines for any equipment that is returned late, lost, or damaged.
SUMMER SCHEDULE: Pick-ups and Returns must be scheduled and confirmed by email between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday-Friday. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
How to Reserve Equipment: OA reccommends that members submit a Reservation Form. Equipment and Bikes can be reserved by using the online forms found below. Equipment can also be reserved at the OAC Rental Desk in the CPA. Please note that equipment may not be avilable for rental due to programmatic needs. Reservations must be confirmed by phone or email.

*If you are renting a Stand Up Paddle board or kayak you must bring your own tie down straps and assistance for loading the boat on to your vehicle. Campus Recreation cannot provide tie down straps or assistance in loading boats on personal vehicles.
BucBikes Program and Bike Shop
The BucBikes program is a collaborative project between ETSU Campus Recreation and
the Department of Sustainability. The program is supported by Campus Recreation and
Green Fee Funds and operated by Outdoor Adventure. Outdoor Adventure also operates
the BucBike Shop where students can have their bike serviced for FREE!

All Bike Rentals come with a free helmet and bike lock. Lights and backets are avilable upon request but must be reserved in advance.
Bike Shop
Shop Hours: The Bike Shop will be open by appointment only until further notice.
Shop Location: The Bike Shop is located inside the CPA Equipment Room behind the Equipment Desk.
Services: Service stands, bike tools, air pump, and limited parts are available for use in making adjustments and repairs to your bike! Mechanics are on-site for assistance and education.
Bike Fix-it Stations:
There are three Bike Fix-it Stations throughout the ETSU Campus. Fix-it stations
have an air pump and basic hand tools for making minor repairs and adjustments.
Locations:
- Main entrance to the Basler Center (right side)
- Governors Hall bike storage area
- Buc Ridge bike storage area between buildings R and S
Bike Policies & General Guidelines
This is a USE AT YOUR OWN RISK service. Before you can check out a BucBike you must read, agree to and sign the
Informed Consent, Waiver, Financial Liability, and Use Agreement.
All bikes are checked and serviced by OA Bike Mechanics after each use. Tires may be deflated if bike has not been used recently. Members are responsible for the bike after they leave the CPA. Members will incur fines for any bikes and equipment that is returned late, lost, or damaged.
Remember:
- Members should abide by all local and state traffic laws, Johnson City Bike Laws and TN Bike Laws.
Be sure to check the bike for safe operation prior to each ride using the ABC-Quick Check.
Always wear a helmet.
