Certified personal trainers are available to assist clients in reaching their fitness and wellness goals. Whether you are interested in improving your overall health, increasing your mobility and functional fitness, or training for a specific sport or competition: we have the personal trainer for you! To get started, please follow the steps below.

- Print off and fill out the REGISTRATION FORM. You can also ask for a registration form at the Member Services Desk at the entrance of the CPA.
- Bring the completed forms to the Member Services Desk at the CPA and turn them in.
- Upon submission of your registration form, you will be contacted within 5 business days with your next steps to begin personal training.
All ETSU students and CPA members interested in purchasing a personal training package
are required to purchase and complete a Fitness Assessment & Goal Setting Session
before purchasing a session package. A registration packet must be filled out to purchase
a Fitness Assessment & Goal Setting Session.
After completing a Fitness Assessment & Goal Setting Session, clients may purchase a 3, 6, or 12-session package. Package fees may be paid at the Member Services desk with cash, check, debit, credit or IDBUCS or online through the CPA member portal.

Personal Training Policies

Personal Training at Campus Recreation Facilities
- Only ETSU Campus Recreation personal trainers are authorized to conduct training sessions within the facility. External personal training is strictly prohibited.

Eligibility & Registration
- Personal training services are available to currently enrolled students, faculty, staff, and those with spouse/domestic partner/dependent memberships with an active membership that are 16 years of age or older.
- A Personal Training Registration Packet must be completed and submitted before beginning training.
- Some clients may be required to obtain medical clearance from a physician before starting their training program. Clients will be notified if this is necessary.
- All ETSU students and CPA members interested in purchasing a personal training package must first complete a Fitness Assessment & Goal Setting Session. After completing this session, clients may purchase training packages of 3, 6, or 12 sessions.
- Payments for personal training packages must be made at the CPA Member Services Desk via cash, check, credit/debit card, IDBUCS, or online at campusrec.etsu.edu.

Expectations & Conduct
- All communication, both verbal and written, between personal trainers and clients must be professional.
- Both trainers and clients must maintain appropriate behavior at all times and refrain from any discussion, actions, or behaviors that are unprofessional, inappropriate (e.g., harassment), or uncomfortable.
- Clients are encouraged to provide feedback before, during, and after sessions. Any concerns should first be addressed directly with the personal trainer.

Sessions & Training Policies
- All purchased sessions must be used within six months of purchase. Unused sessions beyond this period will be forfeited.
- Clients returning to personal training after an absence of more than 12 months must resubmit a Personal Training Registration Packet and purchase a Fitness Assessment & Goal Setting Session before resuming training.
- Personal training session sales are non-refundable. However, in cases where a medical condition prevents the completion of sessions beyond 90 days, refunds may be issued upon submission of a physician’s note.
- Training sessions must be scheduled during facility hours of operation. Trainers are required to adhere to all scheduled closures, emergency closures, and modified hours.

Cancellation Policy
- Clients must notify their personal trainer at least 24 hours in advance to cancel a scheduled session.
- If a client cancels within less than 24 hours, the personal trainer reserves the right to determine whether the session will be forfeited.
