Model United Nations
The Model United Nations club at ETSU provides a platform for students to become familiar with the current agenda and inner workings of the United Nations. Students participate in mock simulations to prepare for conferences at the regional, national, and international level where they assume the role of diplomats representing their designated Member States. Through discussion, delegates portray the various committees within the United Nations, all while pursuing majority resolutions and advocating for their Member State’s interests in the committee. By participating in such simulations, students gain a new perspective on the obstacles faced by the United Nations and a deeper understanding of international diplomacy as a whole.
